§ 2-2-4 CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU.
   (A)   The establishment of an independent Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau is hereby supported.
   (B)   The Council recommends that the Board of Directors of an independent Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau be representatives of the lodging industry, the hospitality industry and the general business community, and that the Council further recommends that seats be reserved on the Board for representatives from the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce and Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce in order to maintain channels of communication and cooperation.
   (C)   The Council recommends that the Board of Directors of an independent Albuquerque convention and visitors bureau be solely responsible for the policy, direction and personnel of that body.
   (D)   The policy of the city is to contract with an independent Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau for the convention and tourist promotion services that are funded by the city.
   (E)   The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce is urged to cooperate fully in transitioning the existing Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau into an independent organization, including transfer of personnel, salaries, employee fringe benefits, files and the temporary provision of office space.
