§ 1-5-1 POLICIES FOR THE PROTECTION, MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF OPEN SPACE LANDS, REGIONAL PRESERVED AND NATURAL RESOURCE AREAS.
   (A)   The following Open Space Management Plan shall be adopted as the basis for the protection, management, and development of Open Space Lands, Regional Preserves, or Natural Resource areas presently owned or acquired by the city in the future.
   (B)   The lands categorized below shall be officially designated and posted accordingly:
      (1)   Open Space.
         (a)   Sandia Foothills;
         (b)   Bear Canyon;
         (c)   Volcanoes - Volcano Park;
         (d)   Bond Ranch;
         (e)   Four Hills; and
         (f)   That Land on Either Side of the River Lying Between the levies.
      (2)   Regional Preserves/Natural Resource Areas.
         (a)   Candelaria Farms;
         (b)   La Boca Negra Park;
         (c)   Volcano Ranch Park;
         (d)   Montessa Park;
         (e)   Golden Park;
         (f)   San Antonio Park;
         (g)   Carolino Canyon Park;
         (h)   Gutierrez Canyon Nature Center; and
         (i)   Petroglyph State Park.
   (C)   Future purchases, easements, leases or dedications of lands meeting Open Space, Regional Preserves or Natural Area criteria be designated appropriately and posted as such immediately upon acquisition.
   (D)   The Parks and Recreation Department shall be responsible for coordinating the development of individual programs comprising the comprehensive Open Space Management Plan and insuring their review by the appropriate departments and review bodies by September 1, 1980.
