For the purpose of this article, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
MAYOR. The Mayor or his designated representative. (See § 10-9-8, Delegation of Authority.)
OPERATOR. A person that is responsible for, conducts, controls, or manages any public dance.
ORGANIZATION. A body organized for some specific purpose, as a club, union, society, or other publicly recognized group.
PERMIT. Written authorization from the city to operate a public dance.
PERSON. An individual, organization, group, association, partnership, corporation or any combination thereof.
PUBLIC DANCE. Any dance to which the public generally is invited whether or not any charge is made, directly or indirectly, by or for the operator of such a dance.
