For the purpose of §§ 9-5-3-1 et seq., the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHLOROFLUOROCARBONS or CFCs. The family of substances containing carbon, fluorine and chlorine, and having no hydrogen atoms and no double bonds, for example, the Freon used in air conditioning and refrigeration units.
DISPOSE. To discard and not reuse.
PERSON. A natural person, governmental agency, partnership or corporation, whether acting as a principal, agent, employee or otherwise.
RECYCLING SYSTEM. A system by which refrigerant is pumped out of the compressor of a cooling or freezing system, purified, and reinjected into the same or another cooling or freezing system.
REFRIGERATION UNIT. Refrigerators and freezers, including both those intended to be household appliances and those which are commercial and industrial models.
SELL. To offer for sale, expose for sale, have in possession for sale and distribution, whether or not the sale or distribution is made for consideration.
WRECKER OF VEHICLES. Every person actively engaged in the business of acquiring vehicles, required to be registered under the Motor Vehicle Code, Chapter 66, Articles 1 through 8 NMSA 1978 for the purpose of dismantling such vehicles as scrap material or for the resale of reclaimable parts.
