Every motor vehicle other than a motorcycle shall be driven with at least two headlamps, with at least one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle and both headlamps in good working order. Each headlamp shall not be more than 54 inches nor less than 20 inches, measured from the center of each headlamp to the level ground upon which the vehicle stands when such vehicle is without a load. Such headlamp shall emit a clear white light plainly visible from a distance of 500 feet to the front when the vehicle is without load, when on a straight, level, unlighted roadway under normal atmospheric conditions.
