It shall be unlawful for any resident of the state to operate a motor vehicle in the city unless such person has on his person a current motor vehicle driver's license or chauffeur's license issued by the state. It shall be unlawful for any resident of the state to operate a motorcycle, motor driven cycle or motor scooter in the city unless he has on his person a current license for such purpose issued by the state. It shall be unlawful for any nonresident of the state Mexico to operate a motor vehicle in the city unless such person has on his person a current driver's license or chauffeur's license issued to him by the state of which he is a resident which would authorize him to operate the type of motor vehicle he is operating in the city if he were in the state of his residence.
