(A) For the purpose of this article, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DISTRIBUTOR. The person responsible for placing and maintaining a newsrack in a public right-of-way.
MAYOR. Includes his designated representative.
NEWSRACK. Any self-service or coin-operated box, container, storage unit or other dispenser installed used, or maintained for the display and sale of newspapers, other periodicals or advertising material. A newsrack is a type of street furniture.
PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. The total area of land acquired by a public body within the city and dedicated primarily to the use of the public for vehicular and/or pedestrian travel. Public right-of-way does not include areas within the University of New Mexico campus or similar public campuses where the right-of-way is not owned by the city.
ROADWAY. That portion of a street public right-of-way improved, designed or ordinarily used for vehicular travel.
SIDEWALK. That portion of the public right-of- way which is primarily devoted to pedestrian use.
(B) Words not defined herein, but which are defined in § 14-16-7-1 of the Integrated Development Ordinance, are to be construed as defined therein.
