§ 6-5-2-22 PRESERVATION OF SURVEY MONUMENTS.
   Before any excavation, the applicant shall notify the City Surveyor to locate any monuments that may be affected by the construction. The applicant shall show due diligence in protecting any monument set for the purpose of locating or preserving the lines of any street, property subdivision, precise survey reference point, or a permanent survey benchmark within the city. Under no circumstance shall the applicant remove or disturb any Albuquerque Control Survey (ACS) or Albuquerque Geodetic Reference System (AGRS) monument without first obtaining permission in writing from the City Surveyor. Any person applying for permission to remove or disturb such monument shall pay all expenses incident to the proper replacement of the monument. The monument shall be replaced by or at the direction of the City Surveyor.
