Economic Development Commission
166.01   Purpose.

166.01 PURPOSE.
   The Economic Development Commission in the City shall be an action oriented body whose main purpose shall be to enhance and facilitate economic development within the City and shall act as a catalyst between City Council, developers, residents and the business community in the City to enhance and expand and improve the economic climate of the City.

166.02 FUNCTIONS.
   The Economic Development Commission shall:
   (a)   Act as an advisor to both City Council and the Planning Commission of the City on the economic impact of proposed developments within the City;
   (b)   Review on an ongoing basis the Master Plan of the City;
   (c)   Create, maintain and facilitate such development within the City which enhances the City;
   (d)   Assist businesses willing to locate in the City;
   (e)   Search for and attract businesses that will enhance the commercial portion of the community as well as the residential portion of the community;
   (f)   Provide input to City Council on problems or inadequacies in the City's Building Code or Zoning Code which may hinder economic development;
   (g)   Assist City Council in an advisory capacity relative to the disposition of public properties that may or may not be required by the City;
   (h)   Review upon request by City Council planned development within the City; and
   (i)   Confer as required with the planning Commission, Architectural Review Board and any of the regular or special committees of City Council.
