CHAPTER 168
Promote Wyoming Commission
168.01   Purpose.

168.01 PURPOSE.
   The Promote Wyoming Commission shall be an action oriented body whose main purpose shall be to promote the City of Wyoming to potential residents and business patrons and act to promote and assist with community events. The Commission shall also assist with community branding, volunteer recruitment, public commission, marketing efforts, new resident reception, promotional projects, and other similar efforts and activities. The Promote Wyoming Commission will serve in both an advisory role to City Council and staff, but also as an action oriented body that works closely with City staff as needed.

168.02 COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP.
   (a)    The membership of the Promote Wyoming Commission shall consist of nine members, who shall be residents of the City. Eight of the members shall be chosen by a majority of the members of Council, with backgrounds and expertise in areas such as marketing, public relations, event planning, graphic design, and real estate. The remaining member shall be a member of Council selected by the Mayor.
      (1)   All appointments shall be for a term of three years.
            (2)   In the event of a planned absence of the appointed City Council representative, the City Manager shall designate another City Council member to serve in such absent City Council member's absence. Such substitute Council member shall have the same powers to act and vote on all matters coming before the Commission.
   (b) The Promote Wyoming Commission shall select on a yearly basis a chairperson, vice chairperson, and secretary.

168.03 MEETING.
   The Promote Wyoming Commission shall meet at least four times each year and minutes shall be kept of all meetings of the Commission by the secretary, copies of which shall be forwarded to the Clerk of Council.
