PEDDLERS AND SOLICITORS
For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PEDDLER.
(1) Any person carrying goods or merchandise who sells or offers for sale for immediate delivery goods or merchandise from house to house.
(2) PEDDLER also means any representative of an organization or group who calls on residences without the previous consent of the occupant for the purpose of distributing any kind of goods or written materials.
SOLICITOR. Any person who solicits or attempts to solicit from house to house any contribution or donation or any order for goods, services, subscriptions or merchandise to be delivered at a future date.

Any person engaging in peddling or soliciting in the city without first obtaining a license as herein provided is in violation of this subchapter.
