1410.01 COMMISSIONER OF BUILDINGS.
   There is hereby created the office of Commissioner of Buildings, also referred to as the Building Commissioner. The Commissioner shall be appointed by the Mayor with the confirmation of Council. The Commissioner shall serve until a successor is duly appointed and qualified.
   The Commissioner may be compensated as Council may provide by ordinance. Nothing herein contained shall prevent the person holding such office from holding another public position, except that of Councilman, and receive compensation therefor as may be fixed by the authority controlling each of such positions, in addition to his compensation as Commissioner of Buildings.

1410.02 WORK WEEK; CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
   The Commissioner of Buildings shall devote to his duties under the Building Code not less than forty hours per calendar week. During his term of office, he shall not personally inspect or in any way be responsible for the inspection of any building built by him as a contractor or being built by him for himself or upon which he furnishes material and labor, or either, or upon which he may be employed or in which he may have any interest.
