(EDITOR'S NOTE: Former Section 530.01 was repealed by Ordinance 10-1989, passed February 13, 1989.)
Section 1.7 of the Fire Prevention Code entitled “Investigation of Fires” is modified to include the following:
(a) Pursuant to Ohio R. C. 737.27 the Fire Marshal in charge of the Fire Prevention Bureau of the City Fire Department is hereby authorized and directed to be present at all fires, investigate the cause thereof, examine witnesses, compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of books and papers, and to do and perform all other acts necessary to the effect and discharge of such duties.
(b) The Fire Chief, Assistant Chief and Fire Marshal may administer oaths, make arrests and enter, for purpose of examination, any building which, in his opinion, is in danger from fire. The Marshal shall report his proceedings to the legislative authority at such times as are required.
(c) Failure of any person, firm or corporation to comply with any order of the Marshal in charge of the Fire Prevention Bureau under the provisions of this section shall constitute an unlawful act and subject such person, firm or corporation, to the penalties provided in Section 530.99.

In addition to the provisions in Section 16.22 of the Fire Prevention Code as adopted in Section 530.01, the following is added: “Installation of outside above ground tanks for the storage of Class I liquids is prohibited.” (Ord. 61-1972. Passed 11-27-72.)
