The Council shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
(a) To serve as a resource to the Board of Supervisors and County or local municipalities on sexual offending issues in the region.
(b) To coordinate efforts and hear presentations from community partners and stakeholders regarding programs aimed at ending sexual offending.
(c) To maintain the Containment Model approach to the supervision and management of known sexual offenders within their own agencies and between Council members.
(d) To diminish sexual offending through community education, in coordination with local law enforcement efforts.
(e) To develop, support and/or participate in programs targeting the prevention, intervention and elimination of sexual violence in the region.
(f) To identify and research grants from all levels of government and private sources for carrying out the functions of the Council.
(g) To serve as liaison to the California Sex Offender Management Board.
(h) To network with other jurisdictions on sexual offending related issues.
(i) To hold a minimum of 10 meetings per year.
(j) To conduct other duties and functions as assigned by the Board of Supervisors.
