18.58.010: Purpose
18.58.020: Fees
18.58.010: PURPOSE:
Salt Lake City intends to transition toward one hundred percent (100%) renewable electricity sources by 2032, to reduce eighty percent (80%) of Salt Lake City's carbon emissions by 2040, and to achieve these goals through energy efficiency as an important cost-effective measure to achieve these goals. Utilization of solar panels will contribute significantly towards Salt Lake City's efforts to effectuate this transaction. (Ord. 25-18, 2018)
18.58.020: FEES:
The fees associated with the installation of solar panels on any new or existing building or structure and any corresponding permits shall be as set forth on the Salt Lake City consolidated fee schedule, and assessed based on the kW size of the system, up to one hundred kilowatts (100 kW). Fees for installations larger than one hundred kilowatts (100 kW) will be assessed as electrical system permitting fees. (Ord. 25-18, 2018)
