The Charter contained herein was adopted by the citizens of Pleasanton at an election held on August 14, 1982 and placed in effect by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton on October 4, 1982. Amendments adopted by the citizens at an election held on January 17, 1987, August 12, 1989, May 6, 1995, May 6, 2000, May 6, 2003, May 9, 2009, May 9, 2015, May 7, 2022, and May 4, 2024, have been inserted in their proper place.
