The regular City election shall be held annually on the May uniform election date, in accordance with the election laws of the State of Texas at which time officers will be elected to fill those offices which become vacant that year. The City Council shall fix the hours and place for holding the election. The City Council may, by ordinance or resolution, order a special election, fix the date and place for holding same, and provide all means for holding the special election. Notice of the election shall be published in the official newspaper of the City of Pleasanton. The publication will be made not more than thirty (30) days, nor less than ten (10) days before the election.
