(A) Purpose. The "P" Public District is established to recognize structures and uses that are publicly owned and operated.
(B) Permitted uses. The following uses are permitted:
Fire stations.
Parks and recreational areas.
Police stations.
Schools, elementary, junior high and senior high.
Village Hall.
(C) Special uses. The following uses may be allowed by special use permit in accordance with the provisions of § 157.189.
(1) Will County Fair Grounds:
Conduct a fair according to state regulations.
Motor vehicle racing limited to one per week between June and Labor Day of each year; terminating by 11:00 p.m.
Animal races.
Animal, poultry and bird shows.
Commercial exhibits.
Auctions and antique shows.
Picnics.
Fireworks displays.
Dances, skating, both indoors and out-of-doors.
Style shows.
Mobile Parks.
Conventions, meetings and dinners.
Rent building for storage.
Sale of alcoholic liquors.
(2) Public service uses, including filtration plant, pumping station and water reservoir; sewage treatment plant; sanitary landfill; telephone exchanges, electric substations and other similar public service uses.
(D) Minimum lot size. There are no requirements for minimum lot size except as recommended by the Plan Commission and approved by the Village Board of Trustees.
(E) Yard areas.
(1) Front yard. No requirement except where abutting upon residential use as recommended by the Plan Commission and approved by the Village Board of Trustees.
(2) Side yards. No requirement except where abutting upon residential use as recommended by the Plan Commission and approved by the Village Board of Trustees.
(3) Rear yard. No requirement except where abutting upon residential use as recommended by the Plan Commission and approved by the Village Board of Trustees.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Any use as established in B-1, B-2, B-3, I-1 or I-2 Districts which involves the manufacturing, fabricating, assembly, disassembly, repairing, storing, cleaning, servicing or testing of materials, goods or products, shall be operated in such a manner as to comply with applicable performance standards as hereinafter set forth governing noise, smoke, particulate matter, toxic or noxious matter, odors, fire and explosive hazards or vibration, glare or heat, and no use already established on the effective date of this chapter shall be so altered or modified as to conflict with or further conflict with such applicable performance standards. The application for a building permit shall be accompanied by a certification from a recognized testing laboratory selected from a panel approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals.
