The purpose of this regulation is to establish fees for the reproduction of tapes of telephone or radio messages received at the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center and for the search and preparation of such materials for a period of time exceeding two hours. Nothing in this fee regulation waives any of the confidentiality requirements of the Maryland Public Information Act or of the discretionary denial of public information authorized by the Maryland Public Information Act. The assessment of reasonable fees is authorized by Maryland Code, State Government Article, Section 10-621.
A minimum fee of $150.00 applies when any individual or entity requests reproduction of tape copies of any telephone or radio message received at the Emergency Communications Center, including Police, Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Service communications. An additional fee of $50.00 per hour is charged for reproduction exceeding one hour and for search and preparation time in excess of two hours.
