(a) The building shall be equipped with a central heating unit adequate to maintain a minimum temperature of seventy (70) degrees Fahrenheit at all times in the patient area.
(b) The heating unit shall be enclosed by a fire resistive wall and ceiling, the entrance to which shall be equipped with an approved fire door with a self-closing device. Nursing and care homes with five (5) beds or less are excepted from this requirement, but such homes shall cover the ceiling above the furnace with fire resistive materials.
(c) Stoves and individual room heaters are a fire hazard and are not acceptable.
(d) Chimneys, flues and pipes connected with the heating facility shall be checked and cleaned annually.
(e) Asbestos, cinderblock and metal protectors shall be used whenever contact with the heating facilities presents a fire hazard.
(f) The fuel supply shall be handled according to the regulations of the division of fire protection. If coal is used, ashes shall not be stored in flammable containers pending disposal. (Mont. Co. Code 1965, § 89-32.)
