It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to cause or permit the emission of dense smoke or fumes from any source whatever, including open fires, leaf burning fires, chimneys, engines, furnaces, burners or any other agency within the village, so as to cause annoyance or discomfort to any residents thereof, and the causing or permitting thereof is hereby prohibited.
