CHAPTER 3 GENERAL REGULATIONS
SECTION 305 PROTECTION OF PIPES AND PLUMBING SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Section 305.4.1 Sewer depth. INSERT [NUMBER] as "12" (304 MM) in both locations.
SECTION 312 TESTS AND INSPECTIONS
Section 312.1 Required tests. This section is REVISED to read as follows:
The permit holder or person doing the work shall make the applicable tests prescribed in Sections 312.2 through 312.10 to determine compliance with the provisions of this code. The permit holder or person doing the work shall give reasonable advance notice to the Building Official when the work is ready for inspection. The equipment, material, power and labor necessary for the inspection and test shall be furnished by the permit holder or person doing the work and shall be responsible for determining that the work will withstand the test pressure prescribed in the test. All plumbing system piping shall be tested with either available water pressure or by air.
CHAPTER 5 WATER HEATERS
SECTION 504 SAFETY DEVICES
Section 504.6 Requirements for discharge piping. REVISE by ADDING the following new item:
15. Discharge piping shall be directed downward.
Section 504.7.1 Pan size and drain. REVISE by ADDING the following to the end of the second sentence:
A drain pan shall not be required for a replacement water heater where there is not a drain readily available for use.
CHAPTER 6 WATER SUPPLY AND DISTRIBUTION
SECTION 603 WATER SERVICE
Section 603.1 Size of water service pipe. REVISE by ADDING the following sentence to the end of the section:
Replacement water service pipe size shall not be smaller than the pipe being replaced unless water service calculations are provided for sizing the new water line.
CHAPTER 12 SPECIAL PIPING AND STORAGE SYSTEMS
SECTION 1202 MEDICAL GASES
Section 1202, Medical Gases, is hereby amended by ADDING one additional subsection to read as follows:
1202.1.1 Level 3 dental facilities. Vacuum piping installed under an on-grade floor shall be installed in compliance with recommendations and drawings prepared by a registered design professional and contained within the dental equipment manufacturer's specifications and details, and with the otherwise applicable provisions of NFPA 99 most recent published edition. All drawings and specifications shall be sufficiently comprehensive as to provide prescriptive installation criteria. Special inspection in accordance with IBC Section 1704.1 shall be provided.
