If any vicious, dangerous or feral animal or any animal suspected of, or having rabies, found at large, cannot be safely taken up and impounded, the animal may be slain by any police officer or animal control officer. If it is deemed necessary, such animal's head shall be examined for rabies. (Ord. 05-590, 5-23-2005)
