1505.02 FIRE SAFETY ZONE.   
   Whenever, in the opinion of the Director of Public Safety and Service, the law enforcement officer, or the Fire Chief, it becomes necessary to provide a safety zone at any fire for the protection of pedestrians or to avoid hampering or impeding the firefighters in their work, it shall be the duty of the Director of Public Safety and Service to require the law enforcement officer to provide and establish rope lines at such points as shall be necessary. No person other than City officials, members of the law enforcement office or Fire Department or persons especially delegated by them, or representatives of the press, shall remain or pass within the roped-off safety zone, or push or crowd against the ropes and damage or break them. All persons within the safety zone shall immediately withdraw from the zone upon the order of any law enforcement officer or special officer, fireman, or the Director of Public Safety and Service.

1505.03 INTERFERENCE WITH FIREFIGHTERS.
   No person shall intentionally interfere with any member of the Fire Department in the discharge of his duties, or injure or interfere with any of the property or equipment of the Fire Department. (Ord. 16-06. Passed 3-27-06.)
1505.04 STORAGE TANKS FOR GASOLINE, NAPHTHA, AND FUEL OIL.
   All storage tanks installed for the storage of gasoline, naphtha, and fuel oil in the City shall be buried and comply with the most current regulations set forth by the State Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations. However, the provisions of this section do not apply to storage tanks installed for the storage of fuel oil, so long as the capacity of the tank does not exceed 275 gallons and the number of tanks does not exceed two.

1505.05 KEY LOCK BOXES FOR INTERNAL AUTOMATIC FIRE DETECTION OR SUPPRESSION SYSTEM.
   All occupancies, excluding single family dwellings, served by an internal automatic fire detection or suppression system having a connection to a central monitoring station facility or any facility wishing the Coshocton Fire Department to carry a key to their structure shall be required to provide a key lock box approved by the Coshocton Fire Department.

1505.06 BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION.
   (a)   The Fire Prevention Code shall be enforced by the Bureau of Fire Prevention in the Fire Department of the City which is established and which shall be operated under the supervision of the Chief of the Fire Department.
   (b)   The Chief in charge of the Bureau of Fire Prevention shall be appointed by the Chief of the Fire Department on the basis of examination to determine his qualifications. His appointment shall continue during good behavior and satisfactory service, and he shall not be removed from office except for cause after hearing as required by law.
   (c)   The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members of the Fire Department as inspectors as shall from time to time be necessary. The Chief of the Fire Department shall recommend to the Director of Public Safety and Service the employment of technical inspectors who, when such authorization is made, shall be selected through an examination to determine their fitness for the position. The examination shall be open to members and nonmembers of the Fire Department, and appointments made after examination shall be for an indefinite term with removal only for cause after hearing as required by law.
   (d)   A report of the Bureau of Fire Prevention shall be made annually and transmitted to the Mayor. It shall contain all proceedings under this Code, with such statistics as the Chief of the Fire Department may wish to include therein. The Chief of the Fire Department shall also recommend any amendments to the Code which, in his judgment, shall be desirable.
   (e)   The work week of the Fire Prevention Bureau Officer is established at 40 hours per week. (Ord. 16-06. Passed 3-27-06.)
1505.07 DEFINITIONS.
For the purpose for this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
(a)   “Corporation Counsel” means the Law Director of the City.
(b)   “Municipality” means the City of Coshocton, Ohio

1505.08 STORAGE OF FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS.
   (a)   Bulk plants and above ground gasoline tanks as referenced to in the Ohio Administrative Code, Flammable and Combustible Liquids section of the Ohio Fire Code and its referenced materials, are permitted only in Manufacturing Zoning Districts of the City.
   (b)   Above ground gasoline storage in the Manufacturing Zoned Districts shall not exceed one (1) 550 gallon storage tank per business or manufacturing location and shall comply with the Ohio Administrative Code, Flammable and Combustible Liquids section of the Ohio Fire Code and its referenced materials and the satisfaction of the Fire Official.
