§ 385.11 Fire Extinguishing Equipment
   (a)   Sprinklers.
      (1)   Whenever a building containing rooms in which flammable finishes are applied is classified as a high hazard occupancy, such building shall be equipped throughout with approved automatic sprinklers or other approved automatic fire- extinguishing equipment.
      (2)   In buildings equipped throughout with automatic sprinklers, all areas within finishing rooms and dipping rooms, including ceilings, walls and interiors of spray rooms and booths, shall be thoroughly protected by automatic wet-pipe sprinklers, or by a system of open sprinklers connected to an approved quick-operating valve actuated by an approved thermostatic system. In buildings not equipped throughout with approved automatic sprinkler systems or other approved automatic fire extinguishing equipment, spray rooms and booths shall be equipped with sprinklers supplied by a pipe of not less than one (1) inch in diameter connected to the domestic water system and installed in conformity with the provisions of Section 389.32.
      (3)   Sprinkler heads shall be located so that they will not become covered with paint and shall be kept clean.
   (b)   Hand Fire Extinguishing Equipment. Hand fire extinguishing equipment shall be provided in or immediately outside finishing rooms, and near storage cabinets, spray rooms, and booths, and shall be of such type and in such number as determined by the Fire Chief.
