GENERAL PROVISIONS
(A) The village adopts the policies and procedures for the Police Department, a copy of which is available for inspection during normal business hours at the Botkins Police Department, 210 South Mill Street, Botkins, Ohio.
(B) The Mayor and Police Chief are charged with the enforcement of the policies and procedures hereby adopted.

The Police Department adopts a Domestic Violence Policy and Procedure Manual which the Police Department will follow when responding to and handling allegations of domestic violence and other related offenses. A copy of the policy and procedure is attached to Ord. 95-26 marked as Exhibit A.

(A) The Village Council adopts the policy proposed by the Police Department for the deployment, use and operation of the TASER. A copy of the policy is attached to and made a part of Ord. 03-36 as Exhibit A.
(B) The Mayor and Police Chief are charged with the enforcement of the policy adopted under this section.
(C) The policy with respect to the deployment, use and operation of the TASER shall be included as part of the policies and procedures manual for the Police Department, initially adopted by Ord. 95-32.
(D) The Police Chief shall be and is hereby directed to include the policy in connection with the deployment, use and operation of the TASER as attached to Ord. 03-06 as part of the policies and procedures manual for the Police Department.

(A) The Chief of Police shall be and is hereby designated as the officer or employee of the Police Department to authorize members of the Police Department to provide police protection and assist any county, municipal corporation or township of the state when such political subdivision so requests assistance.
(B) (1) Provided that:
(a) A bona fide emergency or particular need for assistance exists on the part of a county, municipal corporation or township within the state;
(b) A law enforcement call for assistance is received by the Police Department from any chief, sheriff, officer on duty in charge of the Police Department, or duly constituted public official; and
(c) The response is authorized by the Chief of Police, the village shall provide the police protection which has been requested and will render like services in law enforcement while so responding as it renders to the village and the village’s inhabitants with its police equipment, emergency vehicles and police officers.
(2) The Police Department shall render such assistance to a requesting county, municipal corporation or township within the state; provided that the territory within the village is not left unprotected or placed in jeopardy.
(D) Members of the Police Department, while acting in accordance with and pursuant to this section outside the village shall be entitled to participate in any pension indemnity fund established by the village to the same extent as if such members were acting within the municipal corporation limits of the village.
(E) Members of the Police Department shall be entitled to all rights and benefits of R.C. §§ 4123.01 through 4123.96 while acting in accordance with and pursuant to this section outside the village to the same extent as if such members were acting within the municipal corporation limits of the village.
(F) R.C. Chapter 2744, insofar as it applies to the operation of police departments, shall apply to the village and to members of the Police Department when such members are providing police services pursuant to and in accordance with this section outside the municipal corporation limits of the village.
