(A) The members of the auxiliary police unit shall be a resident of the state, and may not be under the age of 21 years at the time of their appointment and such other requirements as provided by rules adopted under § 33.24.
(B) All members of the auxiliary police unit, prior to their appointment by the Mayor, shall have been awarded a certificate by the executive director of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council, attesting to the appointee’s satisfactory completion of an approved state, county or municipal police basic training program in accordance with R.C. § 109.77.
(C) Every member, prior to his or her appointment by the Mayor, shall have passed a physical examination given by a licensed physician not more than 60 days prior to receiving his or her appointment, showing that he or she meets the physical requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position to which he or she is to be appointed.
