General Provisions
§ 39-01 Purpose.
   Pursuant to the City of Yuma Charter Article III (Powers of the City) and Article XI (Municipal Court), certain fees shall be established, assessed and collected from persons using Municipal Court services in order to defray the costs of various Municipal Court related services. The Municipal Court service fees established in this chapter are reasonably calculated to recover, on average, all or part of the costs and expenses associated with each service provided or undertaken on behalf of the person assessed fees.

§ 39-02 Definitions.
   As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, unless such meanings would be inconsistent with the manifest intent of the chapter or the context clearly requires otherwise.
   PROSECUTOR. An attorney or other person authorized to act as an attorney for the government who prosecutes a person for a criminal, civil traffic or petty offense in the Municipal Court of the City of Yuma, Arizona.
   MUNICIPAL COURT. The Municipal Court of the City of Yuma, Arizona as established by City of Yuma Charter Art. XI, Sec. 1.
   MUNICIPAL JUDGE. Shall include the Presiding Judge, Municipal Judge, Municipal Judge Pro Tempore, City Magistrate, and any other person authorized to adjudicate matters for or on behalf of the Municipal Court of the City of Yuma, Arizona.
   MARSHAL. A Yuma Municipal Court security officer employed by the Municipal Court as set forth in A.R.S. § 12-299.10, as amended.
