Requirements for all parcels within the Public Safety Station #19:
A. Buffer Parks: Buffer parks shall be provided as required by city code to buffer any adjoining dissimilar land uses and shall be designed in accordance with the minimum berming and planting requirements of the city code. The landscaping required within the buffer parks shall be in addition to the open space landscaping required for the site. No parking lots, fences, or structures are permitted within the buffer parks. Sidewalks, trails, landscape features, pedestrian furniture, and permitted signage may be located within the buffer parks. A thirty foot (30') wide buffer park shall be required along the north and east property lines to buffer the adjacent residential land uses.
B. Communication Towers, Antennas, Satellite Dishes, And Related Equipment Buildings: This parcel shall be permitted one communications tower a maximum seventy five feet (75') tall on which to locate and affix commercial and noncommercial communication antennas subject to the regulations and provisions set forth in the city code unless otherwise noted in this ordinance. Commercial antennas, including mobile (cell) telephone antennas, shall be mounted in a symmetrical fashion and include antenna screens or covers if necessary to provide for a more aesthetic appearance. Any antennas and satellite dishes mounted on the building or ground shall be screened from view or be of a minute size as to be visually unobtrusive to the surrounding area. Related communications equipment buildings shall be surfaced and designed to match the principal structure. Prior to erection or installation, all communication towers, antennas, satellite dishes, and communication equipment buildings must be reviewed through the overlay district site plan administrative approval process and receive the approval of the city of West Des Moines community development department director as well as obtain any necessary building permits.
