ADOPTING ORDINANCE

ORDINANCE NO. 2352

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF WEST DES MOINES, IOWA, 2019

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST DES MOINES, IOWA:

SECTION 1. The West Des Moines City Council, as required by Iowa Code Section 380.8, published notice of a proposed City Code prepared by Sterling Codifiers, and placed on file in the office of the City Clerk for review by the public, and for which the City Council, following public hearing on the 4th day of March, 2019 approved the proposed Code for the City of West Des Moines, Iowa.

SECTION 2. From and after the date of publication of this Ordinance, the City Code of the City of West Des Moines, Iowa, prepared by Sterling Codifiers, containing compilation of all ordinances of a general nature together with the changes made to said ordinances, under the direction of the governing body of the City, shall be accepted in all courts without question as the Official Code and law of the City of West Des Moines.

SECTION 3. The official City Code, pursuant to Iowa Code Section 380.8, contains all the City Ordinances in effect except for grade ordinances, bond ordinances, zoning map ordinances, ordinances vacating streets and alleys, and ordinances containing legal descriptions of urban renewal areas and urban revitalization areas.

SECTION 4. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its final passage, adoption and publication as required by law.
