For the purpose of clarification within this ordinance, the following definitions shall apply:
BIOSWALE: A long, shallow, completely vegetated swale designed to retain and slowly filter, absorb, and evaporate, as well as convey, stormwater through dense vegetation comprised of wetland type grasses and other water tolerant plants, shrubs, and ornamental trees.
CENTRAL PARK: The area generally at the center of the site inside the loop road that is central focus of the campus with special landscaping, hardscape elements, wet ponds, trails, an outdoor patio, an amphitheater, and other outdoor site furnishings and amenities to serve the employees.
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT: The written agreement between Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and the city of West Des Moines, dated October 29, 2003, which identifies the obligations of each party and the general design regulations and guidelines of the proposed Wells Fargo West Des Moines Campus.
DINING COURT/TERRACE: The secured, outdoor seating area located within the central park space near the center of the campus.
HARDSCAPE: Nonliving materials used to augment the beauty or naturalness of a landscaped area. Hardscape may include, but is not limited to: brick, stone, rock walls, fountains, ponds, pools, planters or retaining walls, but it excludes all forms of artificial and live vegetation.
LOOP ROAD: The main central private road ringing the central campus to which all of the parking areas, driveways, and building drives are connected.
LOW MAINTENANCE TURF: A mixture of grass species reaching eighteen (18) to twenty four inches (24") in height which are adapted to the climate in which they are planted to reduce water and other natural resources consumption. Low maintenance turf is controlled by periodic mowing, minimally twice each year, and can be controlled for noxious weeds through chemical and mechanical means.
SPEED TABLE: A pedestrian crossing identified by a raised area of paving with special paving treatments that is located within the roadway and specifically designed to identify it as a pedestrian crossing and slow down vehicular traffic. (Ord. 1589, 8-2-2004)
