LANDSCAPE ISLAND: A raised, unpaved area located within or protruding into a parking lot or the center unpaved area of a traffic circle used to guide traffic, separate lanes, limit paving, increase aesthetic quality and mitigate environmental consequences of paved areas. The area of a landscape island is measured from back of inside curb to back of inside curb.
LANDSCAPE POD: Small, individual, unpaved areas within a parking lot incorporated to provide locations for vegetation thus increasing the aesthetic quality and microclimate of the parking area.
LINEAR ISLAND: Island located perpendicular to and dividing two (2) back to back linear rows of parking.
STALL ISLAND: Island which takes the place of a parking stall within a single linear row of parking.
TENANT FRONTAGE: For purposes of signage within this development, "tenant frontage" shall mean that linear footage of a leased/owned space within a building which faces toward a public or private street. A maximum of two (2) frontages may be allowed to be counted toward the maximum allowable sign area.
TERMINAL ISLAND: Island located at the terminus end of all linear rows of parking. (Ord. 1920, 5-31-2011)
