The ultimate street right of way, as identified in the West Des Moines comprehensive plan, shall be dedicated to the city for all public streets within the Maple Grove North PUD at the time of platting. Additional right of way width shall be required if landscaped islands are to be constructed as shown in the attached sketch plan and shall be determined at the time of platting or site plan.
Any proposed landscaped islands within public street right of way shall be reviewed by public works and approved by the city council to ensure that the landscaping does not interfere with vision, and that the maintenance of said landscape islands has been properly addressed. The city shall not be responsible for the maintenance of any proposed landscaped islands within the Maple Grove North PUD. The developer shall submit a proposal for the private long term landscaping and maintenance of any proposed islands, prior to development within the PUD. The landscape design and maintenance arrangements for any landscaped medians shall be reviewed and approved by the West Des Moines city council. (Ord. 1273, 10-20-1997)
