If not specifically addressed within this ordinance, the regulations and provisions set forth in title 9, chapter 18, "Signs", of the city code for the regional commercial (RC) and medium density residential (RM) districts, as specified for the parcel shall govern sign design and placement.
A. Wall Signage:
1. Area A may locate wall signage in relationship to the primary entrance only.
2. Buildings within area B may be allowed wall signage. Sign square footage allowances shall be calculated based on one square foot of signage per one linear foot of tenant frontage which contains a public entrance.
3. Area C shall not be allowed any wall signage.
B. Ground Monument Signs:
1. Area A shall be allowed one ground monument sign at each entrance. The sign size, design, copy area, and setback shall be in accordance with city code.
2. Area B shall be allowed one ground monument sign at the western entrance into the site. Area B's sign may be located within five feet (5') of the northern property line adjacent to the western drive access. The sign structures shall not exceed five feet (5') in height and a maximum of thirty five (35) square feet. Multiple tenants may be located on the sign. Location of the sign shall not impede visibility of traffic along the drive or at the intersection with the main vehicle drive along the south end of the Galleria development.
3. Area C shall be allowed one ground monument sign along the entrance drive if area C is developed independently of the parcel to the south. Sign shall be set back a minimum of ten feet (10') from the property line and shall not obstruct vision triangles. Sign shall abide by city code regulations for size, design, and copy restrictions.
4. All ground signs shall have a solid noticeable base and/or column element comprised of brick or stone.
5. The tenant copy area shall be comprised of individually attached letters or a panel sign sized and treated (opaque vinyl or router face) to minimize the amount of sign area that illuminates and to present the appearance of individual letters.
6. Signs shall not block pedestrian and vehicular visibility at intersections.
7. Vegetated landscape beds shall be incorporated around the base of all freestanding signs in a size proportionate to the overall size of the sign, as determined by the sign administrator. No additional mounding of soil or earthen berming shall be allowed to elevate the sign except as required as part of a site plan for screening purposes (berms). In situations in which the base of the sign would be at an elevation lower than the adjoining street, soil may be added to raise the sign base elevation to that equal to, but no higher than, the adjoining street pavement.
8. If a sign is to be placed in a utility easement, the owner of the property upon which the sign is placed shall execute an indemnification-hold harmless agreement releasing the city of any responsibility for damages, repairs, removal or reinstallation of any sign(s) located within a public utility easement.
