A. Organization: At its first meeting in January of each year, the Board shall elect one of its members as Chair, one as Vice Chair and one as Secretary. Officers shall serve one year terms but would be eligible for reelection.
B. A majority of the membership of the board shall constitute a quorum. The director of parks and recreation, or designee, shall act as city staff to the commission.
C. Committee Appointments: The Chair shall make all committee appointments, with the approval of the majority of Board members present.
D. Removal: Any board member may be removed from the board by the Mayor, with the concurrence of the Council. Any such removal shall be stated in writing and filed with the city clerk’s office and a copy thereof filed with the chair of the board. Continued absence of any member from meetings of the board shall, at the discretion of the mayor, render any such member subject to immediate removal from appointment, with final approval by the city council. Any member consistently absent from the board meetings, without sufficient excuse, shall be considered to have vacated their appointment. In the event a vacancy arises, a new board member shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the city council, and the board member so appointed shall serve the balance of the unexpired term. Any such vacancies shall be filled within sixty (60) days after the position becomes vacant.
E.
