The officers and members of the fire department shall hold fire drills at such regular intervals as may be prescribed by resolution of the city council from time to time, and for attending such drills and serving on such fire department, they shall receive such compensation and be paid at such regular intervals as may be prescribed by resolution of the city council from time to time.
