8-2-2: DEFINITIONS:
For the purpose of this chapter:
GARBAGE: Includes and means kitchen and table refuse and offal, swill and also every accumulation of animal, fruit or vegetable matter, liquid or otherwise, that attends the preparation, consumption, use, decay, cooking, dealing in or storage of animal matter, meats, fish, fowl, birds, fruits or vegetables (saving and excepting that dead animals exceeding 10 pounds in weight and offal of slaughterhouses are not included within the meaning of the word "garbage" as herein defined). The word "garbage" does not include dishwater or wastewater. All wet garbage shall be kept in separate containers not to exceed fifty (50) pounds' gross weight.
RUBBISH: Includes and means ashes, broken crockery, broken bottles, broken bricks, tin vessels, trimmings from lawns and flower gardens, including shrubbery, pasteboard boxes, berry boxes, paper sacks, straw, packing materials, shavings, discarded household utensils, but the term "rubbish" shall not include broken or discarded stoves or furniture, broken or discarded building materials, trees or any waste accumulated, other than heretofore specified. The term "ashes" shall be held to include and mean the residue of materials burned. This rubbish can be placed in boxes or cans provided no container weighs more than fifty (50) pounds; gross.
