6-4-1: PURPOSE:
The purpose of this chapter is to allow the operation of off road utility vehicles (ORVs) on certain streets and alleys for the purpose of snow removal, lawn care, landscaping, gardening, construction, maintenance, farming, functions related to emergency services, and parades within the city of Waterloo as authorized and pursuant to section 321.234A and chapter 321I of the code of Iowa, as amended from time to time. 6-4-2: DEFINITIONS:
OFF ROAD UTILITY VEHICLE (ORV): A motorized flotation tire vehicle with not less than four (4) and not more than eight (8) low pressure tires that is limited in engine displacement to less than one thousand five hundred (1,500) cubic centimeters and in total dry weight to not more than one thousand eight hundred (1,800) pounds and that has a seat that is of bucket or bench design, not intended to be straddled by the operator, and a steering wheel or control levers for control.
SPECIAL EVENT: An event held outdoors on public property or streets that can reasonably be expected to cause a public gathering that is not part of the normal course of business at the location. (Ord. 5124, 7-9-2012)
