6-1-1: LAWS ADOPTED:
It is hereby declared to be the intent of the governing body of the city to aid and assist by whatever means possible, for the utmost consistency in traffic regulation among and between agencies of Idaho having such jurisdiction. Toward that end, adoption of the Idaho motor vehicle laws by the cities of Idaho is a necessary means of assuring maximum uniformity within the state.
Therefore, there is hereby adopted for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the use of all streets and public thoroughfares of the city that certain code identified as the Idaho motor vehicle laws, more particularly Idaho Code title 49, as the same may hereafter be revised by the Idaho legislature, or amended by the governing body, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as an ordinance of the city as fully as though set forth at length herein.
Three (3) copies of the said Idaho motor vehicle laws, together with any revisions or amendments, duly certified by the city clerk, shall be kept on file in his office for use and examination of and by the public. (1990 Code)
6-1-2: ISSUANCE OF CITATIONS:
Upon a violation of any provision of this chapter or the laws hereinabove adopted, the arresting officer shall execute the citation in the following manner:
Violation of Sun Valley City Code, section 6-1-1 (being in particular Idaho Code section 49-        ).

6-1-3: AUTHORITY TO DIRECT TRAFFIC:
Officers of the police department or such officers as are assigned by the chief of police are hereby authorized to direct all traffic by voice, hand or signal in conformance with traffic laws; provided, that in the event of fire or other emergency or to expedite traffic or to safeguard pedestrians, officers of the police department may direct traffic as conditions may require, notwithstanding the provisions of the traffic laws.
Officers of the fire department, when at the scene of a fire, may direct or assist the police in directing traffic thereat or in the immediate vicinity. (1990 Code)
