The limits referred to in section F-2601.2 of the fire prevention code, in which storage of explosives and blasting agents is prohibited, shall be as follows:
The storage of explosives and blasting agents is prohibited within the corporate limits of the city as established by law except for temporary storage for use in connection with approved blasting operations. However, this prohibition shall not apply to wholesale and retail stocks of small arms ammunition, explosive bolts, explosive rivet or cartridges for explosive actuated power tools in quantities involving less than five hundred (500) pounds (227 kg) of explosive material.
