A. Codes Adopted: The following codes, published by the International Code Council, Inc., are hereby adopted as the building codes of the village for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said building codes on file in the office of the village are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this section, with the specific revisions otherwise noted in this chapter.

B. Copies On File: Three (3) copies of the codes adopted in this section are on file in the office of the village clerk for public use and inspection.
C. Penalty: Any person violating any provision of the codes adopted herein shall be punishable as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. (2006 Code)
It shall be unlawful for any person, association, corporation or combination thereof to construct, within the following described territory, any building of any type for storage, residential or commercial purposes without a permit for the construction of the same from the building permit committee:
Blocks 1 through 29 inclusive, of the Original Town of Stronghurst, Blocks 40 through 49 inclusive, of the Second Addition to the Village of Stronghurst, Blocks 31 through 39 inclusive of the First Addition to the Village of Stronghurst; Blocks 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12 in Thompson's Addition to the Village of Stronghurst; all of Dixson's Addition to the Village of Stronghurst; all of Main's Addition to the Village of Stronghurst; an area bounded by the public road on the North side of Section twenty five (25) in Stronghurst Township, on the South by Chestnut Street in the Village of Stronghurst and the East right of way line of Cooper Street in the Village of Stronghurst if extended by the two (2) aforementioned streets; and an area described as bounded by the public road on the North side of said Section twenty five (25), the East line of the Original Town Plat of the Village of Stronghurst and the North side of Maple Street in the Village of Stronghurst, and an area described as bounded on the North by the public road on the North side of said Section twenty five (25), the East line of Chicago Avenue, the North side of the AT&SF Railway right of way and the West right of way line of State Bond Issue 94, and Town and Country Subdivisions of the Village as platted, and Porters Additions as platted.

A. Area Established: There is a special fire limit area in the village described as follows:
Beginning on Broadway on Nicholas Street and extending North to Santa Fe right of way and East from Broadway to the alley in Blocks 8 and 14, and west from Broadway to the alley in Blocks 9 and 15. Also beginning on Main Street at the intersection of Mary Street and extending west to the alley in Blocks 8 and 14 extending North from Main Street 75 feet and South from Main Street 75 feet.
B. Application Of Provisions: Buildings within said special fire limit shall be subject to all provisions of this section, but this section shall not affect standards outside of the special fire limits.
C. Construction Requirements: All buildings constructed within special fire limit area shall be built of fire resistant material, including the roof. (1993 Code p. 56 § 403.1-3)
