It is unlawful for any person, acting for himself or herself, through an agent, or for such agent, to print, paint, write, mark, paste, or in any way post up any notice, card, advertisement or other device upon any tree, post, pole, device or standard, upon any street or sidewalk at any time, except as may be provided by law.
