63-2-1: PURPOSE:
This chapter delineates the responsibilities of the various divisions in the Community and Neighborhoods in regard to bonds, permits, licenses, etc. (2019 Compilation)
63-2-2: SCOPE:
All insurance requirements for bonds, permits, licenses, contracts and other liabilities of the City are met and enforced by the department issuing the bond, permit or license, or monitoring the contract or other liability. (2019 Compilation)
63-2-3: RESPONSIBILITIES:
   A.   Building And Licensing Services Division: The Building and Licensing Services Division is responsible for the approval and enforcement of any insurance or bond requirements for licenses including:
      1.   Auctioneers (all types);
      2.   Employment agencies;
      3.   Locksmithing and key duplicating;
      4.   Package delivery and messenger services;
      5.   Pawnbrokers;
      6.   Public weight masters;
      7.   Tree removal services;
      8.   Taxicab operations; and
      9.   Auto wrecking.
   B.   City Engineer's Office: The City Engineer's Office is responsible for the approval and enforcement of any insurance requirements for excavation in the public right-of-way, street repairs and scaffold and crane operations.
   C.   Risk Manager: The Risk Manager is responsible for the approval and enforcement of insurance and fidelity bond requirements for Salt Lake City Corporation and its employees.
   D.   City Attorney's Office: The City Attorney's Office is responsible for the approval and enforcement of insurance requirements for bonds not delegated within this chapter.
   E.   Recorder's Office: The Recorder's Office is responsible for the maintenance of insurance documents for contracts entered into by Salt Lake City Corporation and insurance documents related to subdivision bonds and all other bonds not delegated within this chapter. (2019 Compilation)
