A. Employees covered under plan “B” are eligible after 15 years of full time service with the city to be selected to receive up to two weeks of career enhancement leave. This one-time leave benefit could be used for formal training, informal course of study, job-related travel, internship, mentoring or other activity that could be of benefit to the city and the employee’s career development. Selected employees shall receive their full regular salary during the leave. Request for this leave must be submitted in writing to the appropriate department director, stating the purpose of the request and how the leave is intended to benefit the city. The request must be approved by the department director and by the human resources director, who will review the request for compliance with the guidelines outlined here.
