1188.01 PURPOSE.

   The purpose of this section is to protect the public health, safety, convenience, comfort, prosperity or general welfare of the residents and to promote the orderly land use within the City of Salem. All private residential shooting ranges shall be a "conditionally permitted" use in the City of Salem. (Ord. 140401-21. Passed 6-3-14.)

1188.02 DEFINITIONS.

   (a)   "Private Residential Indoor Shooting Range" means any indoor area within established Residential zoned areas which is established for the purpose of pistol and/or rifle shooting. Said shooting range may not to be operated for profit or as a commercial venture.

   (b)   "Firearms" means any weapon expelling a projectile(s) by the action of an explosive. (Ord. 140401-21. Passed 6-3-14.)

1188.03 APPLICABILITY.

   This section applies to all Private Residential Indoor Shooting Ranges as defined herein that are located within the City of Salem.
