(1) The custody, care and management of the Atwater Kent Museum shall be vested in a Board of Trustees, and shall consist of seven members.
(a) One member shall be Atwater Kent, Jr., who shall serve for the duration of his life, or as long as he may see fit, but under no circumstances may his membership on the Board be terminated except by his death or voluntary retirement. In the event of the voluntary retirement of Atwater Kent, Jr., his successor shall be appointed by him. In the event of the death of Atwater Kent, Jr., his successor shall be a member of the immediate family of Atwater Kent, Jr., if willing to serve, and shall be selected by the Trustees of the Atwater Kent Foundation, Inc. In the event that no such member of the immediate family of Atwater Kent, Jr. is willing to serve, the vacancy shall be filled by the remaining members of the Board of Trustees.
(b) The other six members of the Board of Trustees shall be appointed as follows: one by the Mayor, one by the Council, one by the governing body of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, one by the governing body of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, one by the governing body of the Franklin Institute of the State of Pennsylvania, and one by the governing body of the University of Pennsylvania. The members of the Board, except Atwater Kent, Jr. and the member of his immediate family, shall serve during the pleasure of the bodies appointing them.
(2) Subject to the provisions of the Charter, all other provisions of the ordinance of July 28, 1938 under which the City accepted the museum are continued in effect.
