AUTHORITY, PURPOSE AND DEFINITIONS
(A) This chapter shall be known, and may be cited, as the Will County Stormwater Management Ordinance (the "WCSMO").
(B) The County Board adopts this chapter pursuant to its authority to regulate stormwater management and governing the location, width, course and release rate of all stormwater runoff channels, streams and basins in the county, in accordance with the County Comprehensive Countywide Stormwater Management Plan. The statutory authority for this chapter is contained in ILCS Ch. 55, Act 5, §§ 5-1041, 5-1049, 5-1063, 5-1104, 5-12001, 5-15001 et seq. and 5-40001 and other applicable authority, all as amended from time to time. The Village Board has adopted this ordinance pursuant to its authority and to mirror the County Ordinance.
(C) As applicable, the communities within the county adopt and enforce this chapter or in the alternative adopt and enforce a municipal ordinance that is consistent with and at least as strict as the county regulations, pursuant to ILCS Ch. 55, Act 5, §§ 5-1062, ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, §§ 1-2-1, 11-12-12, 11-30-2, 11-30-8 and 11-31-2 and ILCS Ch. 615, Act 5, §§ 4.9 et seq., including § 18g.
