(a) Personnel within rank, other than those provided for in Section 145.01(g) shall be entitled to vacation with pay as provided in Section 173.06. They shall also be entitled to sick leave as provided in Ohio R.C. 124.38, and to eleven paid holidays per year, excluding days off, as per Section 131.02. They shall also be bonded under the Public Employee's Blanket Bond, as per Section 173.01.
(b) If, during one calendar year, any member of the Division of Fire, within rank, does not use any sick leave benefits, that member shall be granted one additional duty week vacation with pay in addition to whatever other vacation with pay such member is entitled to under the ordinances of the City. Such vacation with pay shall be granted only in the calendar year immediately following the calendar year in which the member did not use any sick leave benefit.
(c) In the event of the death of a spouse, child, parent, sister, brother or grandparent, or a current mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law or son-in-law, of a within rank member, such member shall be entitled to three calendar days or one tour of duty of bereavement leave with pay, which shall not be deducted from accumulated sick leave.
(d) Personnel working a twenty-four hour tour of duty shall be entitled to vacation with pay in terms of tours according to the following formula: Five tours of vacation with pay after one year of service; Eight tours of vacation with pay after eight years of service; Ten tours of vacation with pay after fifteen years of service; Thirteen tours of vacation with pay after twenty years of service; and Fifteen tours of vacation after twenty-five years of service. For conversion purposes, the following is the formula for converting weeks of vacation into tours of vacation: Two weeks of vacation is equivalent to five tours of vacation; Three weeks of vacation is equivalent to eight tours of vacation; Four weeks of vacation is equivalent to ten tours of vacation; and Five weeks of vacation is equivalent to thirteen tours of vacation. Six weeks of vacation is equivalent to fifteen tours of vacation.
(e) Each member within rank of the Fire Division who does not work a forty-hour week tour of duty shall be entitled to four tours of duty as holiday leave in lieu of the holiday leave granted to other full-time employees. Those within rank members of the Fire Division who work a forty-hour week tour of duty shall receive the same holiday leave as other full-time employees as provided in Section 131.02.
