There is established a traffic commission. The traffic commission may be known and referred to as the "Murrieta traffic commission," or as the "traffic commission."

A. The traffic commission shall consist of five members plus up to two alternate members, each of whom shall be appointed by the city council in accordance with Chapter 2.32 of the Murrieta Municipal Code. Appointments shall be for four-year terms and implemented pursuant to Chapter 2.32 of the Murrieta Municipal Code.
B. The alternate member(s) will be selected by the full city council and membership status is in accordance with Chapter 2.32 of the Murrieta Municipal Code.

Special meetings may be called by the chairperson or majority of commission members on twenty-four (24) hour notice, as set forth in Section 54956 of the Government Code of the State of California. Only matters contained in the notice may be considered.
