8-8-1: RATES:

   A.   All property within the corporate limits upon which any building has been or may be hereafter erected having a connection with the city water system shall pay charges as determined by the city council. All property outside the corporate limits shall be billed at a higher rate plus additional nonresident fee in sums to be determined by the city council.

   B.   A prepaid tap fee, plus the cost of materials, plus the cost of any contract labor, shall be charged by the city to connect to the city water system. The tap fee shall be determined from time to time by the city council.

   C.   Said set rates, fees and charges shall be kept in a book or electronic record by the city collector for dissemination upon request. (Ord., 9-9-2014)

8-8-2: BILLS:

   A.   Said rates or charges for service shall be payable monthly depending on the classification of service for which bills are rendered. (Ord., 4-13-2004, eff. 7-2004)

   B.   The owner of the premises, the occupant thereof and the user of the service shall be jointly and severally liable to pay for the service to such premises, and the service is furnished to the premises by the city only upon the condition that the owner of the premises, occupant and user of the services are jointly and severally liable therefor to the city.    C.   Bills for water charges shall be sent out by the city clerk or the city collector on the fifteenth day of the month for the period for which the service is billed. All water bills are due and payable fourteen (14) days after being sent out. A late payment penalty of ten percent (10%) of the balance shall be added to all bills not paid by the fourteenth day after the billing date. (Ord., 4-13-2004, eff. 7-2004; amd. 2010 Code)
